The RE-01 development platform with an Intel Cyclone® FPGA is designed for advanced driver development in combination with MEMS. The selected onboard components on the RE-01 and the two expansion slots lead to a high range of applications with differently elaborated MEMS sensors or actuators. The RE-01 platform makes MEMS development faster and more effective.
High voltages are required for the ideal operation of some MEMS devices. On the RE-01, two independent, user-configurable high voltage sources generate up to 100 VDC. Using a digital 10-bit potentiometer, almost all voltages can be set linearly between 3 and 100 volts, so that the optimum operating voltage for the MEMS is always available.
With the pin-compatible expansion slot for an Arduino® MKR-1000 Shield, the Internet of Things is the ideal application area for MEMS system developments with the RE-01. Thanks to the compact dimensions and the selected components, a wide range of smart applications is possible.
The external clock input and the serial data interface makes it easy to integrate the RE-01 into other platforms or systems. This allows MEMS specific signals to be exchanged between the platforms. The RE-01 can also be operated with a single voltage source. Features such as anti-aliasing cut-off frequencies, high voltage range or the resolution of the analog-to-digital converters are selectable.
With the Rocket Engineering Control Center and the FPGA IPs for the respective control of the hardware components, rapid control of the platform is guaranteed.
